Statement by Governments

In the view of all the countries, the Report makes a valuable and important contribution to our understanding of knowledge, science, and technology for development, based
on recognition of the need to deepen our understanding of
the challenges that lie ahead. This assessment is a constructive
exercise and makes an important contribution that all
countries need to develop further in order to ensure that agricultural
knowledge, science, and technology achieve their
potential, with a view to attaining the goals of sustainable
development and poverty and hunger reduction, thereby |
improving the quality of rural life and human health and facilitating equitable development in a way that is socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable. Based on this declaration, the following governments accept the Latin America and the Caribbean Report: Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Uruguay (10 countries). |
